About Eco-Schools
The Government in England wants every school to be a sustainable school by 2020. The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) launched their Sustainable Schools Framework in 2006 when the Secretary of State for Education, the Rt Hon Alan Johnson MP set out challenging long-term aspirations for schools to mainstream learning about sustainable development issues and sustainable practices into everyday school life.
Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life.
The shop is aimed to encourage children and their schools on their journey towards a more sustainable school life.
About the Partnership with TTS
Eco-Schools have partnered with TTS Group, a specialist schools equipment supplier with over 25 years experience, in order to bring you a selection of age appropriate, job appropriate and environment appropriate materials to help build a healthier school with environmentally minded young people.
The Eco-Schools Shop selected resources come from a range of sources so it might useful to ask your school to consider which types of resources have the most environmentally friendly sources as part of your selection process. However we understand that in everyday life we are surrounded with a variety of materials and many factors can influence our decision making, and it is in this vein we offer you a variety of choices.
